Car Delivery Checklist: 5 Things You Should Know About

While being excited about your new car is natural, it is essential to check things thoroughly, and assure everything is as per contract. For this you need to learn a few things about your car, including some basic technicalities that would help quality check your vehicle and its formalities at delivery time. Here are the five most essential things to check:
Car Body

Make sure that the interiors and exterior body of your car is in perfect shape. At times, the car body can get damaged during the delivery. However, you might notice the damage later, making it impossible to claim damages at the dealership. Notice any dents, glass damage, wind shields and wipers. Check if the inside is clean and the car seat covers are new.
Engine
Thoroughly check the insides of your car. Open the bonnet and examine the fluid levels. Make sure that the coolant, engine oil, brake fluid and windscreen washing fluid chambers are full. Check for leakages under the bonnet, strange sounds and make sure the exhaust is not emitting black fumes.
Tyres

Check that the tyres are new and filled with adequate air. Check for puncture marks or any sharp objects that might have penetrated the tyre walls. Spare tyres and essentials tools like a jack should be available in your new car. You should also take a test drive of the car and make sure that the tyres and other fittings are done properly. A test drive will also help you get a feel of the car and make sure that it is in top condition.
Electricals
All lights, indicators, interior lights, headlights and back lights of your car should be in top condition. There are chances that rodents might eat into the car bonnet and damage the wiring. Checking each function individually is the key to a great new car experience. Moreover, if anything is wrong with your vehicle, it can be resolved in front of the dealer.
Documentation

One of the most important things while buying a car is documentation. Ask your dealer for Form 22 which contains all the necessary information about car ownership. It also contains the car's engine number, chassis number and year of manufacturing. Make sure they're the same as promised. Also check that the car's vehicle identification number and the above mentioned information matches your car. This will make sure that you're getting the same vehicle as promised.
Paying attention to such small yet intricate details will ensure that your new ride would deliver on its performance and you don't have to be stressed out later. Are you ready to ride into the sunset?
