Italian motorcycle brand Ducati has released a teaser image confirming that it will unveil a new Scrambler on March 10. Ducati has already launched the BS6 Scrambler range in India in January 2021, with the new Scrambler Icon and Scrambler Icon Dark, as well as the Scrambler 1100 Dark Pro. A latest teaser on Ducati's social media channels reveals that the Italian brand is getting ready to expand its Scrambler family with yet another model. While Ducati has not indicated what the new model will be, the teaser images seem to suggest that the new model will likely be a more hardcore off-road oriented model.

The new model in the Scrambler family is expected to be a hard-core off-road oriented model

Ducati already has the Desert Sled in the 800 cc Scrambler model range, which was unveiled in updated form in November 2020. The new motorcycle, to be unveiled on March 10, could be in fact, a bigger Desert Sled with the 1100 cc, or a production model of the Scrambler DesertX, which was showcased as a concept at the 2019 EICMA show in Milan. While the existing Desert Sled is more of a crossover, the DesertX could dial up off-road capability a couple of notches higher, and introduce a real, capable off-roader in the Scrambler family.

But all this is speculation at this stage. Ducati has not indicated what the new model will be, or if it will be a Desert Sled with a bigger engine, or a production model of the DesertX concept. More details are expected on March 10. But if it does turn out to be a more hardcore, off-road capable Ducati Scrambler, it will possibly take the fight to the likes of the Triumph Scrambler 1200.
