Hero MotoCorp Sells Over 6 Lakh Units In October; Sees A Drop Of 4.8%

- This is 3rd month in a row where Hero has sold more than 6 lakh units
- The company sold over 3 lakh vehicles on Dhanteras in October
- Hero's sales between July and September was over 2 million units
Hero MotoCrop, the country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer saw a 4.8 per cent drop in October sales with the company's dispatch sales clocking at 631,105 units last month, compared to the 663,153 units in October 2016. Having said that, sales for the entire festive season, including the second-quarter (Jul-Sep) of FY'18, went up by 10.9 per cent with a record 2 million-plus units. Furthermore, this is third consecutive month where Hero MotoCorp has sold more than 6 lakh units in a month.
Commenting on the company's sales performance, Ashok Bhasin, Head of Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Hero MotoCorp, said, "Achieving 2 million two-wheeler retail sales in this year's festive season is a new benchmark and is a matter of immense pride for us. This landmark accomplishment once again highlights the tremendous faith that our consumers repose in brand Hero both for Motorcycles and Scooters. It is also the result of our very effective 360-degree "Go-to-Market" initiatives. There has been a good improvement in the consumer sentiments in both the rural and urban markets and we are confident of carrying forward our sales momentum into the months ahead."
October was also the month when Hero MotoCorp achieved a new benchmark with by selling over 3 lakh two-wheelers in retail sales in a single day - on the day of Dhanteras. The company says that the sales were driven by the company's popular models - Splendor, Glamour, Passion and HF Deluxe motorcycles along with the Duet, Maestro Edge and Pleasure scooters.
