Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade Gets Price Reduction By Up To Rs. 2.5 Lakh

- The price reduction is due to the decrease in custom duty rates for CBUs
- Honda had launched the 2017 CBR1000RR in India last year
- Honda sells two variants of the CBR1000RR in India; Standard & SP
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has reduced the prices of its flagship superbike, the CBR1000RR Fireblade models in India, thanks to the reduction by 25 per cent in custom duties for CBUs (completely built units) announced by the government earlier. The earlier price of the CBR1000RR was Rs. 16.79 lakh and now it has dropped to Rs. 14.78 lakh while the higher specced CBR1000RR SP was previously priced at Rs. 21.22 lakh and now it has dropped to Rs. 18.68 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.

(2017 Honda CBR1000RR SP Fireblade can now be yours for Rs. 18.68 lakh, ex-showroom)Honda had launched the new-gen Fireblade in India last year. The CBR1000RR gets a 999 cc in-line four engine which makes 192 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 114 Nm at 11,000 rpm. The Fireblade SP too gets the same engine as the standard Fireblade model. Coming to the features, the standard Fireblade gets ride-by-wire, 9-step traction control, selectable engine braking, electronic steering damper and a gyroscopic ABS. Along with these, the Fireblade SP gets a bi-directional quick-shifter and a semi-active suspension system from Ohlins which includes 43 mm NIX30 inverted forks up front and a TTX36 monoshock at the rear. Both models get a TFT screen for the instrumentation console as well.
Other premium motorcycle manufacturers who have announced the reduction of prices in some of their models are BMW, Ducati, Suzuki, Harley-Davidson and Yamaha along with Indian as well.
