While Dongfeng Honda, Honda's Chinese subsidiary, is yet to reveal the hatchback's specs, it is likely to come powered by the same 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol engine that does duty on the Honda City in India. Mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT, it will reportedly put out 127bhp and a maximum torque of 155Nm.

Honda Gienia Profile
The Honda Gienia's front features the 'solid wing face' that includes the black grille with a chrome strip, projector head-lamps, and a new bumper. At the rear, the hatchback gets boomerang-shaped tail-lamps connected by a reflector strip, chrome accents on the bumper, and a bootlid-mounted spoiler. The automaker is yet to reveal images and details of the Honda Gienia's interior.

Honda Gienia Rear
While the Gienia hatchback is scheduled to go on sale in China from October, and while there is no word if Honda will bring the car to India. The Honda City sedan, has been present in India for nearly a decade and a half now and has been the company's most successful model here. Bring the City's charm together with the popularity of hatchbacks in India and it feels Honda India may have another winner on its hands.
