Mahindra NuvoSport Engine Details and Variants Leaked

Ahead of its official launch next week, the engine details and variants of the new Mahindra NuvoSport have surfaced online. Mahindra's new sub-4 metre SUV - NuvoSport, which is essentially the facelifted version of the Quanto, is slated to launch on April 4. The leaked engine details reveal that the SUV will continue to be powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel engine that powers the Quanto. It has also been revealed that the SUV will be available in four variants - N4, N4+, N6 and N8 - though we have yet this particular information.

NuvoSport Engine Specification Sheet

According to the engine specification sheet that has leaked online, the new Mahindra NuvoSport will be powered by a 1493cc (1.5-Litre) diesel engine the churns out a maximum of 100bhp and develops a peak torque of 240Nm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT unit. Moreover the SUV will also offer PWR and ECO modes that drops the engine power and torque for better fuel efficiency. In ECO mode the engine will develop a peak torque of 180Nm.

Mahindra NuvoSport Rear

As for its design and exterior profile, the Mahindra NuvoSport shares its underpinnings with the new generation Scorpio and gets some interesting styling bits like the new aggressive front fascia with the rugged black bumper and faux skid plate, LED DRLs, and a faux hood scoop. The side profile of the SUV looks very similar to the older model except for the addition of a new 5-spoke alloy wheels, foot board, and restyled ORVMs. The rear profile remains unchanged and the only new additions are the redesigned tail lamps.

The inside of the car will retain Quanto's seven seater layout, which has been revamped with a more stylish looking cabin and new trim options. The top-of-the-line is expected to feature a first-in-class eight ways adjustable seats coupled with lumbar support, reverse parking camera, centre console system, Bluetooth connection, cruise control and a dual DIN touchscreen infotainment system.
