Intelligent Trace Control

- Intelligent Trace Control delivers a smooth driving experience
- In a way, it is also a safety feature.
- Find out everything about this technology.
Intelligent Trace Control is a comfort feature that also doubles up as a safety feature. It was developed with the main aim of offering confident cornering and reducing the stress felt by drivers during these situations. It allows them to smoothly maintain control of their car and can also keeps them safe from accidents that could arise due to braking during high-speed cornering. Let us give you a full overview of Intelligent Trace Control.
What is the need for Intelligent Trace Control?

Anyone who has ever driven a car will tell you that dealing with sharp corners, especially when you're driving at good enough speeds is a stressful job. That's because of the constant need to switch between the brake and the accelerator, while also making sure that the steering wheel is pointed at the right direction. And many a time, because this coordination goes wrong, the vehicle may veer off its intended path and may even end up in an accident. This is where Intelligent Trace Control comes into the picture.
What is Intelligent Trace Control?

Intelligent Trace Control is a system designed to be able to apply brakes to individual wheels instead of all of them at the same time. The system only gets activated during cornering though, and braking on straight roads works as it normally does. When you brake during cornering, Intelligent Trace Control will apply the brakes slightly harder on certain wheels to make sure that the car maintains its intended path. This results in a relaxed and comfortable drive. While you will become pretty accustomed to it later, the difference between regular cars and those equipped with Intelligent Trace Control is felt very distinctly during the first few times you drive such a car.
How does Intelligent Trace Control work?
Intelligent Trace Control has its roots set in the very common technology called Electronic Stability Control. ESC, as it's referred to, uses a system that's always recording the driver's steering inputs, the speed of the wheels, angular velocity, and the lateral and longitudinal forces acting on the car. Intelligent Trace Control makes use of the same data to deliver what it does. It takes the information acquired from the ESC system to detect when the vehicle is departing from the steered path. It then immediately applies braking to individual wheels to help bring them back into the correct cornering line. It's worth noting that this braking isn't at all harsh and does not even affect the vehicle speed by a big margin. All it does is aid its cornering and helps keep the vehicle in line, thus increasing the driver's confidence and enjoyment.
Intelligent Trace Control is one of many features found exclusively on Nissan cars. Among them are the Intelligent Rear-view Mirror, the Chassis Control Technology, ProPILOT with Navi-link, the Intelligent Display Interface, and more.
