Mahindra Dealers Start Taking Bookings For The XUV300

Few Mahindra dealers in some of the metropolitan cities have started accepting bookings for the upcoming XUV300 subcompact SUV. carandbike has reached out to some of the Mahindra dealers in Mumbai and Delhi-NCR region who have admitted accepting bookings for the XUV300 and have promised to prioritize deliveries of the same. However, the company has not confirmed the news saying that they have not started with the bookings yet and dealers are only addressing prospective customers who are coming to showrooms with queries.

We also reached out to some of the dealers in tier two cities who said that they haven't received the 'go-ahead' from the company yet and will only take bookings after they will be notified by the company. At present, Mahindra is conducting the training program for dealers and its service channels in phases for the XUV300 which is likely to get over by the end to January 2019. The company is expected to officially start with the bookings after the training session is over and the XUV300 is likely to be launched in the middle of February 2019.

Mahindra had christened the S201 (codename) subcompact SUV, XUV300 last week and it is based on the SsangYong Tivoli. Similar to the XUV500, the design of the XUV300 too is inspired by a 'Cheetah' and the borrowings is apparent to an extent in the way some of the body panels have been done. For instance, the design of the flank and front wheel arch which may not be similarly angular but has alike character lines.

Expect the new Mahindra XUV300 is to be well-equipped with premium features like a touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverse parking camera, auto-climate control, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers and more. It will also be up on the safety quotient and will get seven-airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP. It will be powered by the Mahindra Marazzo sourced 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine which produces 121 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
