Mahindra e2oPlus EV Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs. 5.46 Lakh

- The e2oPlus comes with four-doors and an increased wheelbase
- The revised front will bring the e2oPlus in-line with other Mahindra cars
- The e2oPlus sees improvements in power, range and charging time
Mahindra has been aggressive with its electric vehicle portfolio this year. We first saw the e-Verito then the e-Supro van and now we get the e2oPlus, a 4-door variant of the smaller 2-door e2o hatchback. The Mahindra e2oPlus will be available in three variants with prices ranging from Rs. 5.46 lakh - Rs. 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Mahindra claims that the cabin space of the car has gone by over 150 litres and car is indeed very spacious. Our first drive review will tell you a lot more about the car.
Being an all-electric car, customer will also get to enjoy the special incentives offered by the Government of India under the FAME ( Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric) initiative. Currently, Mahindra will focus only on the domestic market and has no plans to export the new e2oPlus to any other global market.
Mahindra e2oPlus is the 4-Door Version of the e2o
The face now gets a new grille - which is akin to the Scorpio's and the rest of the Mahindra family of vehicles, if you take a closer look at the images. The length of the car is increased by 310 mm to 3590 mm and the wheelbase is up by 300 mm at 2258mm. The e2oPlus comes loaded with features like a GPS enabled navigation system and an on-board computer that warns you about the car's driving range. The touch-screen monitor is easy to use and very responsive.
The e2oPlus also gets an SOS feature called revive which is being carried over from the e2o that gives you an additional range of 7-10 km if your battery power dips below 10 per cent. This can be activated by a touch of a button or by using the e2oPlus app on your smart phone. The mobile app also hosts other features like switching on/off the car's air conditioning and even locking/unlocking the car.

While most of the variants get the same electric motor which gives a range of 110km that we have seen on the e2o, the top spec P8 variant of e2oPlus gets a new 3 phase induction motor which is now more powerful with peak power of 40bhp and torque of 91Nm. It also gets a more reliable 210ah lithium-ion battery that increases the driving range to 140km and a top-speed of 85Km/h. A full charge for the e2oPlus takes about 9 hours, which is identical to what the smaller e2o takes to power up too. The automatic gearbox is also unchanged from the 2-door variant and gets a boost or sport mode.
