Highlights

Mahindra Reva is a company known for its technical know-how of manufacturing affordable electric vehicles (EVs). In a bid to dispel the untruths regarding the impracticality of buying and owning EVs in India, the company has organized a first-of-its-kind drive during which 3 Mahindra Reva e20s will be driven from Kashmir to Kanyakumari over a span of a month. The drive is called 'Mahindra Reva Goodness Drive - Kashmir to Kanyakumari' and was flagged off from Sri Nagar by Arvind Mathew, CEO of Mahindra Reva, in the presence of former Sri Lankan cricket star, Aravinda De Silva.

This month-long event will see the 3 e20s cover 5,000 km of roadways; a journey that will take the convoy through 52 locations across the length of the country before culminating in the southernmost point of India's main landmass - Kanyakumari. This lengthy drive is intended to bring to light the positive aspects of owning an EV by raising public awareness with regards to the e20's surprisingly practical driving range. The event will also demonstrate the e20's ability to accelerate immediately and traverse difficult terrain, that too with the added convenience of clutch-free driving.

At the flagging-off ceremony, Arvind Mathew said, "Mahindra e20 is the Mahindra Group's endeavour to offer its customers a clean, smart and economical personal mobility solution and thus redefine sustainable urbanization. To create awareness of the benefits of electric mobility through Mahindra e20, we are pleased to flag off the Goodness Drive. As a pioneer of electric vehicles and integrated mobility solutions in India, it is our effort to make EVs more accessible in order to build a cleaner tomorrow. By traversing this vast distance, our e20s will look to effectively dispel the range anxiety among customers and will demonstrate the car's ability to handle difficult terrain."

The Mahindra Reva e20 is a perfect representation of the company's '5Cs framework of Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost Effective' vehicle technology. The car itself has been around for 2 years now but hasn't managed to make an impact on Indian consumers due to its relatively high cost when compared to other small hatchbacks.
