Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Over 10,000 bookings already

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis was officially launched in India just under a week ago and has already racked up over 10000 bookings. The Ignis which is available only at Nexa showrooms is the least expensive car you can buy from Maruti’s premium outlet but still offers premium styling and equipment akin to the likes of the Baleno and the S-Cross.

The Maruti Suzuki Ignis is available with petrol or diesel engine options and a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The prices for the petrol manual variants are between Rs 4.59-6.69 lakh while the petrol AMT is priced between Rs 5.74-6.30 lakh. The diesel AMT on the other hand is priced between Rs 6.94-7.46 lakh with prices for the diesel manual ranging from Rs 6.39-7.80 lakh. The Ignis can be booked with a token amount of Rs 10000 at a Nexa showroom or online though the official Nexa website.

The Ignis has a waiting period of about eight to ten weeks for the petrol and about 11-12 weeks for the diesel depending on the variant and colour. Maruti Suzuki is also offering a range of customisation options for the Nexa including colour coded interior trim, roof wraps and add-ons like contrast colour spoilers and outside rear view mirrors.

The Ignis is available in four variants, Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha with the AMT only available in the Delta and Zeta variants. The top of the line Alpha is only available with the manual gearbox as of today but could also get an AMT version in the future if there is a substantial demand for a higher spec AMT. The Ignis is also very roomy when it comes to rear seat space (leg room and head room) and is based on the fifth generation Suzuki platform. The Ignis also gets first in class features like LED headlamps and a large touchscreen infotainment system that gets both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
