MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago Limited Edition Model Announced

- First model from MV Agusta after split with KTM's parent firm
- Only 83 units of limited edition model will be built and sold
- Superveloce 1000 Ago pays homage to Giacomo Agostini
The MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago is a limited edition model and the brand’s first announcement after the separation with KTM’s parent company. Limited to just 83 units, the latest model in a line of motorcycling tributes to 15-time Grand Prix world champion Giacomo Agostini is based on MV Agusta’s new four-cylinder Superveloce 1000 neo-retro superbike. The new Superveloce 1000 Ago is the first new model from MV Agusta, since the brand’s split from KTM’s parent company, Pierer Mobility AG. PMAG sold a 50.1 per cent majority stake in MV Agusta back to MV Agusta’s former owners, Art of Mobility S.A. earlier this year.

The new Superveloce 1000 Ago was announced earlier this month, on Agostini’s 83rd birthday, on June 16, and will be priced at 83,000 Euros (approximately Rs. 83 lakh under current exchange rates). For those who will shell out that kind of money for this very exclusive motorcycle, what will be thrown in along with the bike will be a certificate of authenticity, dedicated bike cover, additional passenger seat and footpegs, as well as pillion carbon heel guards, among a long list of bespoke components.

The Superveloce 1000 Ago features a full carbon fibre fairing with front winglets, and finished in Fire Red Matt and Magnum Silver Matt, with a yellow No. 1 on each side and a matching yellow accent on the CNC-machined headlight crown. The colour combination of the latest model is a homage to Agostini’s past racing machines. The tail section incorporates a four-exit underseat exhaust from Akrapovic.

The limited-edition model is similar to the regular MV Agusta Serie Oro model with the same 998 cc, DOHC inline-four unit making 205 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 116 Nm of peak torque 11,000 rpm. Each of the 83 customers will also a receive a made to order Custom Works Demone GP 3X leather suit from Dainese and AGV Pista GP RR helmet.
