Another test mule of the upcoming new-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was recently spotted testing and this time around we got to see the new cabin of the MPV as well. While the image might not be all that clear, we were able to identify a bunch of changes and more importantly, the gear lever which reveals that the MPV will get a new six-speed manual transmission. The outgoing model currently gets a 5-speed manual gearbox, which comes mated to both the petrol and diesel engine, along with an optional 4-speed torque converter for the petrol model.

Now, we have already told you that the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga might debut the company's new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine to replace the existing Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine, and will likely come mated to this new 6-speed manual gearbox. There is no word on the petrol version getting any mechanical updates, so we expect the existing 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine to be carried over, along with the 5-speed manual gearbox. It's also possible that Maruti Suzuki might replace the 4-speed automatic torque converter with its tried and tested AMT system sourced from Magneti Marelli.
