New Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet Gets Mighty V12 Turbocharged Engine

Mercedes-Benz has come out with a monster of a luxury car in the all-new Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet. The four-seat S-Class soft-top is equipped with the largest engine available through AMG - a bi-turbo 6.0-litre, V12 motor which is good for 630 horsepower and 1,000NM of torque.
Set to be unveiled at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show in January, the rear-wheel drive Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet's massive engine is mated to AMG's SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC automatic gearbox. The car is also equipped with steering wheel-mounted gear shift paddles in case one feels the need to go into manual mode.
It can accelerate from 0-100Kmph (62Mph) in 4.1 seconds and has an electronically-governed top speed of 250Kmph (155Mph). There's also an optional AMG Driver's Package that will bump the top speed to a restricted 300Kmph (186Mph).

As for the new Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet's exterior, there's lots of chrome around the body, a few 'V12 BITURBO' badges and AMG's signature quad exhaust tail-pipes. The model is equipped with elegant multi-spoke 20-inch forged wheels featuring a ceramic high-sheen finish which are wrapped in 255/40 ZR 20 front and 285/35 ZR20 rear tyres.
Inside, the car is with packed all of the features buyers expect from a flagship model built by Mercedes-Benz. The long list of standard equipment includes Nappa leather upholstery with contrast stitching, a sporty three-spoke steering wheel, a heads-up display, heated front and rear seats, heated armrests, intelligent climate control system, etc.

It's available with Mercedes-Benz's Distronic Plus safety system which includes adaptive cruise control, active lane and blind-spot assist, steering assist, and automated emergency braking.

The cabriolet comes with a three-layered acoustic fabric roof available in four colour options (black, dark blue, beige, and dark red), and the power-operated top can be raised or lowered in just 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50Kmph (31Mph). To keep its occupants warm, the model includes both AIRCAP air deflector (wind protection system) and AIRSCARF neck-warming system.
Mercedes-AMG will start taking orders for the car from April 4, 2016 in Europe. However, there is no information about its availability in India.
