New Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Launched in India; Priced at Rs. 1.29 Crore

The exterior of the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 gets a new hexagonal grille, LED headlamps, restyled tail-lights and redesigned alloy wheels. In fact, the SUV looks even more imposing now with elevated horizontal character lines, the new three-slat grill and chrome garnish that extends horizontally across the LED headlamps.
There are a few changes in the feature list as well, which include a new steering wheel with heater, tyre pressure monitoring system, a larger and more advanced 4.2-inch audio-video infotainment system, enhanced multi-terrain monitor cameras and LED illuminated entry system, among other goodies. How much use a heated steering wheel has though, with respect to India's climatic conditions, is anybody's guess.

The engine and transmission in Land Cruiser remain the same - a 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel unit that churns out 268bhp and develops 650Nm of torque when mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV obviously features full-time four-wheel drive.
Speaking at the launch, Akitoshi Takemura, Senior Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar, said: "In our endeavour to periodically enhance our offerings, we are delighted to introduce our top-of-the line global SUV - the new Land Cruiser 200 8th generation with new design and equipment in India. Land Cruiser 200 has earned the title of 'King of 4WD SUVs' across the world due to its unmatched capability in tackling terrains both on and off road with equal aplomb.
"Globally, more than 7.5 million happy customers have enjoyed owning Land Cruiser series cars over the last 60 years. In line with the changing lifestyle preferences of our customers, we are happy to introduce new Land Cruiser 200," he added.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 will now be available in 2 new colours - Copper Brown and Dark Blue Mica, apart from its existing colours (Super White, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Black, Attitude Black, Dark Red Mica Metallic and Beige Mica Metallic). There are 2 new interior colours as well - Brown and Flaxen, apart from the existing Black trim.
