Planning To Buy A Used Jeep Compass? Here Are Things You Need To Consider

The Jeep Compass has been the most popular offering from the Stellantis-owned American SUV maker in India. The Made-In-India Compass was launched in 2017, and soon became the volume product for the company. The SUV received a mid-life facelift last year, receiving major cosmetic updates along with new tech and a host of premium creature comforts. However, along with the update the SUV has now also become a lot more expensive, with the on-road Delhi prices starting at around Rs. 21.38 lakh and going up to Rs. 36 lakh.
So, if you do want to get a Jeep Compass, but are on a tight budget, we suggest looking for a pre-owned model. Depending on the model year and the condition of the car, you can get a used Compass for around Rs. 13 lakh, going up to Rs. 20 lakh, or even higher. But before you start looking for one, here are some pros and cons you must consider first.
Depending on the model year and its condition, you can get a used Jeep Compass for around Rs. 13 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh.
Pros
- The Jeep Compass, thanks to its monocoque construction is extremely agile and also stable. It is extremely fun to drive and very chuckable because the tyres provide good grip around corners
- The Compass is well-built and feels well put together. The fit and finish are premium, and you’ll know that you are driving a solid SUV that imparts enough confidence even at high speeds.
- The cabin of the Jeep Compass is extremely comfortable as the seats are well bolstered and there is a good amount of space inside the cabin
Cons
- The infotainment system is a bit outdated and if you get a variant which comes with a rearview camera, you'll notice that the picture displayed gets pixelated and is not clear.
- The engines on the Compass are noisy and you really wish Jeep had done a better job with insulation.
- The fuel economy of the Compass is not that great and we wish it could have been better.
