Production Ready 2016 Honda CBR250RR Image Leaked Online?

- Honda could reveal the production ready bike in the 3rd quarter of 2016
- The bike could be powered by a 35bhp, 250cc parallel twin-cylinder engine
- Honda CBR250RR price tag will possibly be close to Rs. 2.70 lakh
Honda has been mum about the CBR250RR ever since the concept was unveiled. With little details out, here is what you can expect on the quarter-litre offering. The Honda CBR250RR would be using a 250cc parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor tuned to produce around 35bhp of power and close to 28Nm of torque.
Reports suggest that the bike will get Ride-by-Wire technology (RbW), while a slipper clutch and Combi-ABS will be part of the package as well. Other bits include projector headlamps, LED tail lights and indicators, digital instrument console, USD forks and a monoshock suspension at the rear. The Honda CBR250RR is expected to carry a price tag close to Rs. 2.70 lakh (Indian equivalent) when it goes on sale in Indonesia and other South East Asian markets.

Honda has shared little details as to when the 2017 CBR250RR will make it to the showrooms, but earlier reports suggested that the Japanese bike maker would be introducing the production ready bike in the third quarter of the year. That said, there have also been reports of an unveil possible as early as next week on June 6. We will now have to wait and see as to when the twin-cylinder CBR250RR makes its public appearance.
Talking about the competition, the Japanese manufacturers are really dominating in this regard with some excellent products to offer. The Kawasaki Ninja 250 set the benchmark here and has aged well over the years; while the Yamaha R25 comes close and even beats the former on several points, but does not emerge as a complete package. The KTM RC 390 being the fantastic track bred motorcycle it is, still leaves room for an all-rounder. This is where Honda gets to step in and set the new benchmark. The Light Weight Super Sport Concept were the first signs of the same and things look bright, if this leaked image turns out to be true.
