Royal Enfield Himalayan Sales Grow by 31 Per Cent in June 2016

- Royal Enfield sold 1,357 units of the Himalayan in June 2016
- It is the first ever ADV motorcycle from Royal Enfield stables
- It is the only budget ADV motorcycle at present
The launch of the Himalayan was a turning point for Royal Enfield as a manufacturer. There has been a dearth of adventure touring motorcycles that can be bought on a budget. The iconic manufacturer was the first to step into this segment and brought the Himalayan. Ever since it was launched, it has got decent reviews and despite its recall, it has had more or less, a favourable response. This reflects in the fact that the sales of the Himalayan for the month of June 2016 grew by a solid 31 per cent across India. Royal Enfield was able to sell 1,357 units of the Himalayan as opposed to the 1,030 units sold in May 2016. Here is how the company performed as a whole in June 2016.
The Himalayan is a clear departure when it comes to the Royal Enfield motorcycles. It is absolutely all-new and is holds its ground be it off the road or on it. For a manufacturer whose expertise is retro-styled motorcycles, Royal Enfield has done a good job of launching the Himalayan at a time when the motorcycling culture is blooming in India. At the moment, there are no motorcycles which can be termed as direct competition for the Himalayan. Although, the KTM Duke 390 and the Mahindra Mojo fall in the price bracket, but are primarily meant for use on tarmac and has a different target audience.
