Royal Enfield Himalayan is in many ways the flag bearer of affordable touring and adventure motorcycles in the country. In its new generation, the bike has been able to make new advances in terms of tech and dynamics. In November 2024, Royal Enfield showcased the second prototype of its electric Himalayan, referred to as the Electric Himalayan Version 2.0. Now, the company has shared fresh visuals of the testbed, alongside the bigger, parallel twin Himalayan model.

The company has shared images of Him-E being tested in Ladakh, the natural habitat of the Himalayan. The test mule can be seen with extensive use of aluminium all over, including on the mainframe, subframe, as well as swingarm. Luggage mounts, heel pads and the battery case are likely made of aluminium as well.
A tall windscreen is a hallmark of the Himalayan and can be seen on the electric version as well; however, what’s missing is a beak. A long, single-piece seat replicates a fuel tank element similar to what was seen on the Him-E version 2.0. The bike gets all-LED headlamps and tail lamps with LED turn indicators. It has a larger 7-inch screen, which seems to be specifically put to use for testing.

The motorcycle has a fully adjustable suspension setup with USD telescopic front forks and an Ohlins rear monoshock. One can also see single discs at both ends. The test mules are running on spoked platinum wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Battlax adventure cross tyres.
Royal Enfield has previously revealed that the Electric Himalayan is currently undergoing testing and development, with several improved versions in the pipeline. The company plans to make multiple prototype models before finalising a production-ready version, with the official launch expected to be a few years away.
