Toyota Innova Crysta Automatic Constitutes 50% Of The MPV's Demand

- Toyota sold 7,765 units of the MPV in July, 2016
- Innova Crysta's production has been increased to 7,800 units per month
- The automatic variants constitute 50 per cent of the total orders
While discussing the company's production plans for the Innova Crysta, N Raja, Senior Vice President & Director Sales & Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, had earlier said a shift in buyers' preferences is being noticed. He explained, "50% of total Crysta sales are automatic transmission, which speaks a lot about changing customer preference in this segment." In a conversation with Financial Express Mr Raja also stated that over 95 per cent orders for the Innova Crysta buyers have been from private owners instead of fleet/ taxi operators.

(Up to 30,000 orders have been received for the MPV since its launch)
Considering the demand for the MPV, Toyota said it has already increased the Innova Crysta's production from 6,000 units in May to 7,800 in June.
The Toyota Innova Crysta is offered with a choice of three engine options: a 2.7-litre Dual VVT-i petrol, a 2.4-litre diesel, and a 2.8-litre diesel. For transmission, buyers can opt for either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. While the manual gearbox is offered across four grades, namely, Zx, Vx, Gx and G, the automatic transmission is available only in two grades - Gx and Zx.
