Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 454,398 two-wheelers in July 2021 which is 12.63 per cent less than sales in July 2020 and a small 3.15 per cent decline when compared to sales of June 2021. Hero sold a total of 424,126 motorcycles, 30,272 scooters in July 2021. The company's domestic sales stood at 429,208 units while exports stood at 25,190 units. Hero's motorcycle sales fell 12.42 per cent in July 2021 over July 2020. Similarly, the scooter sales dropped from 35,844 in July 2020 to 30,272 July 2021, which is a drop of 15.55 per cent.

Hero's domestic sales in July 2021 consisted of 429,208 units, which is 16.26 per cent less than its domestic sales of 512,541 units in July 2020. Although, the company did see a significant growth of 233.07 per cent in its exports for July 2021, with 25,190 units exported last month as compared to 7,563 units exported in July 2020.

As far as year till date sales numbers are concerned, Hero sold a total of 14,78,905 units between April and July 2021 which is 36.33 per cent more than the 10,84,769 units Hero sold between April-July 2020. Of course, it should be noted that April 2020 was a month where sales were zero and sales in May 2020 were below par, due to the first lockdown.

Hero started off the second quarter of FY2022 with the launch of the Hero Glamour Xtec and the Hero Maestro Edge 125. Hero says that most of the retail touch-points are now operational, even with sporadic lockdowns in few parts of the country. Hero believes that the rural and semi-urban market is likely to bounce back on the hope of a good monsoon and the preference for personal mobility as the pandemic still exists. The company remains optimistic about continuously improving customer sentiment in the coming months with the onset of the festive season.
