Two-Wheeler Sales September 2017: Suzuki India's Sales Grew By Almost 33%

- Suzuki India registered total sales of 57,469 units in September 2017
- Domestic sales accounted for 50,785 vehicles, exports were 6,684 units
- Suzuki opened 13 new dealerships, expanding its presence to 467 outlets
Two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki Motorcycle India today released its monthly sales number, registering a growth of almost 33 per cent in September 2017. The Indian arm of one of the Japan's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Suzuki India, registered total sales of 57,469 units, including both domestic and exports, against the 38,510 units sold during the same month in 2016, gaining a growth of 32.99 per cent. Domestic sales in the month of September 2017 alone went up to 50,785 vehicles, while exports accounted for 6,684 units. Last month the company also opened 13 new dealerships, expanding its presence to 467 sales outlets across the country.

Crediting the festive season for the company's impressive sales performance, Sajeev Rajasekharan, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited, said, "We are thrilled at the flying-start we have made to the festive season. Our performance in September is just an extension of the excellent run we have been enjoying in FY 2017-18. Navratras are also a season of auspicious beginnings, and we are delighted to welcome 13 new dealerships into the Suzuki family. The opportunity for us to grow remains huge, as customer's confidence in our products is very high. We believe that the new dealerships will help us enhance this trust by offering customers more touch-points from where they can take home their dream Suzuki Two-wheeler."

The company also mentioned that this consistent upward trajectory has also improved the Suzuki's sales numbers in the last two quarters, between April and September, for the 2017-18 fiscal year. In the last six months, Suzuki Motorcycles India sold over 2.81 lakh vehicles (domestic + exports) with a total growth of 41.73 per cent, compared to the company's performance during the same period last year. The company is aiming to breach the 5 lakh unit sales mark in FY 2017-18, to further strengthen its position in the market.
