Vinod Dasari Steps Down As Royal Enfield CEO, B. Govindrajan Appointed As Executive Director

- Vinod Dasari led Royal Enfield for the last two years
- Royal Enfield introduced the Meteor 350 under Dasari's leadership
- B. Govindrajan is now the Executive Director & takes charge from Aug 18
Eicher Motors has announced that Vinod K Dasari has decided to step down as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Royal Enfield and Executive Director of the Board of Eicher Motors with effect from August 13, 2021. Replacing Dasari at Royal Enfield will be B. Govindarajan, who has been appointed as the Executive Director and will lead the motorcycle maker from August 18, 2021. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer at RE since 2013. The company said that Vinod decided to end his tenure at Royal Enfield for personal reasons, and will commit his time towards building affordable and accessible healthcare facilities.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was the first model to be launched under Vinod Dasari's leadership
Vinod Dasari was appointed as the RE CEO in 2019 and had overseen the launch of the Meteor 350 last year. The new offering was groundbreaking for the company in many ways introducing a completely new platform, engine and several other cycle parts.
Speaking about Vinod exit, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director - Eicher Motors said, "Vinod has made significant contributions to the organization. Right from his unwavering focus on customer facing digital properties, to driving network expansion, to building several new service and solutions-oriented initiatives, he has helped the company take giant steps forward. He also very ably led the company through tough and unprecedented times over the last year and half. I wish Vinod the very best as he leaves us to pursue a project that is close to his heart"
Speaking about his time at Royal Enfield, Vinod Dasari said, "It has been a very memorable ride over the last 2 years and more at Royal Enfield. From navigating through an unprecedented pandemic to launching several digital-oriented solutions; from growing non-motorcycle revenues to expanding substantially outside India, we've had an amazing journey as an organization, and I am happy to have been a part of this. I have decided to move on, so I can dedicatedly follow a personal passion that has been close to me for many years now. I wish Siddhartha and the team at Royal Enfield the very best."

B Govindarajan has been inducted as a Wholetime Director on the Board of Eicher Motors Ltd. and will take on as Executive Director - Royal Enfield. The shift in leadership comes at a time when the company is gearing up to introduce the new-generation Classic 350. The model is extremely crucial to the company's future with the current generation model it's best-selling yet. The company is also working on a number of new motorcycles as well as variants that will go on sale over the next few years.
