Volkswagen Christens New Sub-Compact Sedan Ameo; Premiere at Auto Expo

It was back in 2015 during the launch of the all-new Vento, when Volkswagen India head Michael Mayer announced his plan to launch 5 new models in India over the course of next two years. And the Ameo sub-compact sedan is set to be one of the key launches among them. According to the company's official statement the word Ameo has been derived from the Latin word 'Amo', which means 'I Love.' The biggest highlight of the Ameo is that Volkswagen has exclusively designed the car for the Indian market, making it the first German carmaker to do so.

Volkswagen also claims that the Ameo sub-compact sedan is a truly special offering crafted for the Indian market with love and care. The car combines the brand values of best-in-class safety features, build quality and a great driving experience. The design language is underlined by general bursts of emotion, conceptualized to move the body, mind and soul - says Volkswagen in its statement.
As mentioned earlier, the Volkswagen Ameo has been designed specifically for the Indian market, and will be manufactured at the company's Chakan facility. By marking its entry into the dynamic compact sedan space, the Volkswagen Ameo is expected to be a game changer for the brand in India.

While the company is yet to officially announce its next big launch, more details will be revealed at the Delhi Auto Expo. As for the other two models that will be unveiled at the Auto Expo includes the new Volkswagen Tiguan luxury SUV and the Passat GTE luxury hybrid sedan.
