Highlights

Maruti Suzuki India has just unveiled the all new Ciaz sedan at the 2014 Auto Expo. The new Ciaz will replace the SX4 sedan in India, which has never been a volume generator for the company.

The new Ciaz gets some styling cues from the Suzuki Authentics Concept, which was first showcased at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. The car looks more masculine, outgoing and sportier than its predecessor. The new extended headlamps, pronounced grille and new styling design give it a contemporary look. The high ground clearance and increased height contribute to the ride quality of the car. The interior is inspired by the Swift and Ertiga.

The Maruti Ciaz shares its engines with the Ertiga, and will come powered with a 1.4-litre K2 petrol unit and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. Both the power-units are coupled with a five speed manual transmission. An automatic gearbox is also on option.

The new Ciaz will be launched in six variants (LXi, LDi, VXi, VDi, ZXi and ZDi), and the top-end variant will definitely have more to offer such as twin airbags, ABS+EBD, automatic climate control unit, stereo system with Bluetooth and USB support and more. The new Maruti Ciaz will be launched sometime in the second quarter of 2014.
