10 Best-Selling Cars in India in February 2016

All that said, segment leaders like the Maruti Alto and the Hyundai i20 and Grand i10 also saw some great numbers and stayed strong as the bestseller in the market. In fact some of the popular car launches from 2015 like the Renault Kwid, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno have top-10 category of bestsellers in the market. Here we have brought you the complete list of 10 best-selling cars for the month of February 2016.

Now, over the years we have seen that the best-selling cars in India have mostly belonged to market leaders - Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. And this trend continues this time as well with Maruti having 6 models in the list and Hyundai having 3. At the top of the list we have the evergreen Maruti Suzuki Alto of which the company sold 21,286 units in the month of February, which was followed by the carmaker's popular compact sedan, Swift Dzire that clocked 17,410 units taking the second spot. As usual, the third and fourth position was also taken by two of Maruti's popular compact cars - the Swift and the WagonR, of which the company has sold 15,475 and 14,209 units respectively.

Staying strong at the fifth spot we have Hyundai's best-selling hatchback Grand i10 accounting for 8,898 units last month. At the same time the Korean carmaker sold 8,419 units its premium hatchback, i20 in February 2016, which took the sixth position. At the seventh spot we have one of the new players that took the market by surprise earlier in late 2015 - the Renault Kwid which fetched some good numbers clocking 7,544 units. Renault India is the only carmaker in the list apart from Maruti and Hyundai. This time though the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which has surpassed the Elite i20 last month, came down to the eights spot with just 6,888 units. In Maruti's defense though the company had already claimed that about 10,000 units have been affected due to the production halt which happened due to the Jatt protest last month. The ninth and tenth spots in the list are taken by the Hyundai Eon and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz with 5,539 and 5,162 units respectively.
