10 Rules That Indian Drivers Usually Break

Don't See The Mirror
On Indian roadways, it is common to see cars with exterior mirrors folded. It may take the guesswork out of the lane changes & provide a fast reference point for the vehicle's position in relation to the traffic. Make regular use of them.

Driving On A Wrong Side
Impatience may lead smart individuals to make unwise decisions. One of the silly things is to drive on the wrong side in hopes of saving time, avoiding a toll, or skipping the traffic signal. You must not do that! You risk your own life as well as the lives of everybody else on the roads.
Tailgating or Following A Car Closely
Tailgating happens to be pretty much frequent on the Indian highways. When you follow the car too closely, you have less time for responding to a sudden lane change or just the brake issue. Maintain a 2-second distance between yourself and the car in front, and then you will have ample time & space to do the evasive manoeuvre when necessary.
Not Using Lights Correctly
So, that's a common thing that Indian drivers should avoid. The fact is that the hazard lights only indicate the breakdown. Nonetheless, it's also misleading. Using these lights means incorrectly communicating with the vehicle's status. Just in case you find yourself in low visibility situations, all you need is to ensure that you use the headlights and not the hazardous ones.

Calling & Driving Simultaneously
Talking or texting on the phone when driving diverts the focus away from things at issue and will have disastrous effects. You need to use the car's Bluetooth telephone feature if you need to stay in touch while on the road. Better still, pull over to the safe location & make that call/send the text.
The Seatbelt Issues
The safety system of the car may do little. But if you don't wear a seatbelt, it is not only dangerous but a punishable offense on the road. So, when you aren't in the habit of doing such things, just don't drive straight off. Remind yourself and start driving.
Seating the child in the lap or holding them in your arms when in the car will make you and the kids vulnerable to severe injury during any crash. Invest in the child seat and help them be safe all throughout the journey.
Not Using the High Beam Correctly
You'll understand what you are talking about when you have ever been overwhelmed by a car's headlights. Most drivers set the headlights to full beam as a default setup, significantly lowering visibility for the oncoming drivers. Be cautious & use the high beams carefully.

Drunk Driving
If you haven't already figured it out, driving dangerously under the influence of alcohol is not fair anywhere. It will limit the reactions and impair judgment, making you extremely risky behind wheels. When you wish to drink, be responsible & take the cab home or delegate driving responsibility to a sober person.
Driving When You're Tired
Long hours behind wheels may catch up and result in exhaustion, and being sleepy on roads is not something you would ever want to be doing. So, when you feel like you could use a break, go ahead and take one. Recharge your batteries and return to roads only when you are entirely aware of what is going on around you.
Bad Lane Discipline
A lack of lane disciplines on roads of India steps from the lackadaisical testing or improper training before issuing the license! So, it's imperative to do your own research by using the right-most part of the area when overtaking or keeping to the lane on the corners or twisty roads. As a matter of fact, cutting corners is easily passable on the racetrack, although it's patently unsafe when it comes to public roads.
As you can see aforementioned, these ten things may make an Indian driver get arrested when practiced on the roads of another country. If you are planning to go abroad, ensure that you don't perform any of these. Keep yourself safe on the roads.
