2016 Ford Endeavour to Be Launched in India Today

Ford has launched two new cars, namely Figo Aspire compact sedan and the new Figo hatchback since mid-2015, when it announced its plans to launch three new products in the current fiscal. The Ford Endeavour SUV, thus marks the American carmaker's final launch in India for this fiscal.

Inside, the 2016 Ford Endeavour gets a whole new cabin with premium leather upholstery, better equipment, and a new multi-functional steering wheel. The 7-seater SUV also offers a wide array of features that includes side-stepper, buckets seat at the front, LED lamps, multi-information display, remote key entry, power windows with one touch and anti-pinch action, and rear parking sensors. The list of equipment found on the new Ford SUV also includes voice control functionality on steering wheel, rain sensing viper, dual-zone AC-automatic climate control, cruise control, power folding third row seat, terrain management system, etc..

Delving into details about the new Ford Endeavour, it features Ford's latest design language that comprises shapely character lines. However, the Endeavour continues to be based on Ford's T6 platform and retains its predecessor's towering stance. Talking about changes, the front fascia sports a massive chrome grille with projector head-lamps and DRLs, and a bold bumper design that includes a very prominent silver skid plate that houses the LED fog-lamps too.

On the side, the large flared overhangs house a set of big 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in beefy 260/60 tyres, two-tone ORVMs with integrated puddle lamps and roof rails. One must note, the new Ford Endeavour is not as long as its predecessor; it and measures 4,892mm in length, 1,860mm in width and 1,837mm in height. Furthermore, the SUV now gets a wheelbase of 2850mm (shorter than the previous generation model) and a ground clearance of 225mm.

The new Ford Endeavour will be offered with two diesel engine options: a 2.2-litre, 4-cyclinder unit with 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrain, and a more powerful 3.2-litre, 5-cylinder, oil burner offered with only 4X4 action. While the 2.2-litre motor develops 158bhp and 385Nm of peak torque, the latter puts out 197bhp along with 470Nm of maximum torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
In terms of safety provisions, the new generation Ford Endeavour gets dual front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags and driver knee airbags along with ABD with EBD, electronic stability programme, traction control, hill launch and descent assist, and Ford MyKey among others.
