Making significant changes, the 2016 KTM RC 390 is now equipped with a slipper-clutch that aids in faster gear changes and will only help the model perform better in every way. The Duke 390 was already updated with the feature last year and the update only makes the RC more fun than ever. That said, the models do skip some of the features that were seen on the European version including the aluminium side-mounted exhaust and Ride-by-Wire (RbW) that were introduced to comply with the stringent Euro 4 emission norms. As a result, the additional is not required on the Indian models as they already comply with the prescribed emission standards.
Another major feature now standard across the 2016 KTM range is auto headlamp that is now permanently switched on. The on-off switch has been removed from the right stalk of the handlebar. Other upgrades include NOK seal and plastic flaps on front forks, adjustable handlebar levers, new ECU dampers, better quality alloy wheels, new vapour recovery system for fuel tank and adjustable handlebar levers.

Furthermore, KTM has improved the paint quality on the 2016 lineup which is visibly different from the outgoing version, while the seat gets more cushioning in a bid to add comfort. You also get a new assembly for the pillion seat with a reworked brake reservoir bracket. The automaker has added new diverted radiator fans for better heat dissipation.

Lastly, the Duke and RC 200 get new pattern MRF tyres. In terms of power, all models retain the existing setup with the Duke and RC 200 using a 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor tuned to produce 25hp, while the Duke and RC 390 continue to use the 373.2cc motor tuned for 43.5hp of power.
