2016 Toyota Fortuner Side Profile Image Leaked

We've already told you that the next generation of the Toyota Fortuner is already on the cards and will come to India soon. We expect Toyota to showcase the car the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo and launch it there itself.

We've already shown you a spy shot of the car which showcased only the front of the car. Now, however, there is another one which shows the side profile of the car and gives us a sneak peek into what it will look like.

Like we'd said before, the changes to front include sleeker head-lamps and a restyled front bumper, which also houses chrome encased fog-lamps. However, the bulge on the bonnet has been done away with.

The Fortuner worked pretty well in the market because of its aggressive looks and the road presence it commanded - a department where the next iteration of the Fortuner lacks. The new Fortuner will adopt Toyota's FIRM technology (Frame with Integrated Rigidity Mechanism). It will continue to employ the ladder frame chassis. Toyota is also planning a huge change to the interior of the car too and this means that it will be plusher than before. As details pour out on that front, we will keep you updated.

As far as its competition is concerned, the Fortuner will rival the Hyundai Santa Fe, the new Ford Endeavour, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Chevrolet TrailBlazer. We expect it to be priced between Rs. 22 - Rs. 25 lakh.
