2018 BMW X7 Interior Spied

Last month, we spotted a near production version of the 2018 BMW X7 before it rolls out from the company's plant in Spartanburg plant, in the US. While BMW gets ready for its global premiere in December this year, the earlier spy shots suggested that several of the exterior parts and equipment are already production-ready. Now, new images have surfaced which gives a clear view of what's inside the 2018 BMW X7. The cabin shares its design with the new BMW X3, the BMW 5 Series and even the BMW 7 Series.

On the inside, the BMW X7 gets a sleeker steering wheel with tons of buttons to fidget around with. Also note the digital instrument cluster, assorted piano-black controls on the center console and BMW's iDrive infotainment controller knob. In the centre, the layout floating from the top in a tablet-style, with rows for climate control and other controls below it.

Visually, the BMW X7 is longer than the current generation X5 and gets a giant kidney grille, smart LED head lamps and tail lights, flat roof and a redesigned twin exhausts. Looks will also be heavily inspired by the Concept X7 iPerformance showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Moreover, the SUV is also based on the company's CLAR modular platform, which underpins the 7 Series and the X5.

Under the hood, the new BMW X7 will come with in both petrol and diesel engine options possibly with turbo-charged six- and eight-cylinder pots. This engine will most likely be sourced from a 7 Series. Moreover, the Bavarian carmakers will also introduce a hybrid version to take on the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class and Audi Q7 at a later stage.
