After getting spotted testing multiple times, Jeep has finally revealed first images of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler ahead of its official debut at the La Auto Show, which will take place at the end of this month. The new generation Jeep Wrangler gets a host of updates not just in the cosmetic department, but also mechanically. Moreover, reports also suggest that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler might also get a mild hybrid drivetrain in the future.

As far as exterior changes go, the new generation Jeep Wrangler will be similar to the current generation Wrangler; however, it will get some distinctive changes. These changes include, fresh crease along the sides, new air vents on the front fenders and new door handles. The windshield of the new gen Wrangler will now be foldable and the front bumper will be slightly bigger well than its predecessor. The changes give the 2018 Jeep Wrangler a more premium feel to it, which was missing the current model.

On the inside, the new generation Jeep Wrangler, the changes are subtle. The upholstery is updated with either a 7-inch or an 8-inch infotainment system, smartphone integration with FCA's (Fiat Chrysler Auto) UConnect interface. The interface will also provide off-roading information along with oil-pressure, temperature, altitude, latitude and longitude.

Under the hood, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will offer three engine options- a 3.6-litre V6, a 2.0-litre engine and a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel. Transmission duties will be carried out by either the old 6-Speed manual transmission or by the new 8-Speed automatic transmission. Jeep will reveal the specifications for these powertrains on November 29, when the company finally takes the wraps of the new SUV. While the new generation Wrangler will be on sale in the North American market early next year, we expect it to come to India by mid-2018.
