Now, we have already driven the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S. In fact, we drove it in Portugal, and brought you an exclusive review of the car back in February 2020. Visually, the car comes with the AMG-style Panamericana grille, sharp twin lines on the hood, sleek LED headlamps, and larger air dams and an integrated splitter as well. The profile reveals the big 19-inch alloy wheels with low profile tyres, while at the rear you get a very pronounced rear diffuser and a quad exhaust system which just adds to that sporty demeanour of the car.
The cabin is equally sporty and aggressive, and it reeks of AMG treatment through and through. The car comes with bucket-style sport seats that come in a combination of black Artico man-made leather and Dinamica microfibre with contrast stitching and trim pattern. The AMG Performance steering wheel is wrapped in Nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre with contrasting yellow top stitching, a yellow 12 o'clock marking, AMG steering wheel buttons and AMG logo, plus ambience lighting. Mercedes-Benz India will also offer a range of customisation options under its Designo platform.

The car also gets Mercedes' signature single unit display with two separate screens for infotainment and instrumentation. The former is a touchscreen unit and come with the MBUX infotainment system, which can be controlled by the trackpad on the centre console, the touchscreen display, steering controls or simply using voice command by saying 'Hey Mercedes'. The car also gets premium Burmester sound system. The customer can choose between the three AMG display styles "Classic", "Sport" and "Supersport" for the instrument cluster. The A 45 S also features six driving modes - Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Slippery, Individual and Race. The car also gets heads-up display, blind-spot assist and active lane keep assist.

The A 45 S gets a 2.0-litre turbochared engine that is tuned to churn out a massive 416 bhp and develops a meaty 500 Nm of peak torque
Under the hood, the hot hatch comes with a 2.0-litre engine, which is the world's most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder motor, manufactured for series production. It is tuned to churn out a massive 416 bhp and develops a meaty 500 Nm of peak torque. That's 30 bhp more compared to the regular A 45, and 114 bhp more than what the A 35 sedan makes. The motor is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that provides power to all four wheels via the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. It can do a 0-100 kmph run in just 3.9 seconds and that's fast, really fast!
