Classic Legends has launched the new Yezdi motorcycle range with three new models, Yezdi Adventure, Yezdi Scrambler and Yezdi Roadster. All three bikes are based on a 334 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine derived from the engine of the Jawa Perak, and built around a dual-cradle chassis. But each bike has its unique design, purpose, features and state of tune on the engine, and offer completely different flavours. We take a deep dive into the new range of Yezdi motorcycles and what they offer.

Design & Features

Each of the new Yezdi motorcycles offer very distinct styling, keeping in mind the target consumer, and the purpose each bike has been designed for. The Yezdi Adventure has typical adventure bike styling with a tall stance, short windscreen, wide handlebar, and large front wheel to take on rough terrain.

The Yezdi Adventure gets typical ADV-styling, with a large 21-inch front wheel, tall stance, and the most ground clerance. Additional mounting brackets can double up to carry extra fuel cans and panniers.

It also gets a larger 15.5 litre fuel tank with a design inspired by the original Yezdi Roadking, to cover long distances between refills, and also features additional mounting brackets along the fuel tank, as well as the tail section.

The Yezdi Adventure is the only model which features a tilt-adjustable LCD instrument console, and also features Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation through a dedicated mobile app.

These brackets can be used to mount saddlebags, or additional fuel cans if required. The Adventure is the only model which features a single-sided exhaust. Engine & Performance

All three bikes are based on the same 334 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine, and feature the same 6-speed gearbox. But each model has different engine internals, including pistons, cam shafts and valves, with different state of tune and engine maps to go with the individual model's purpose and character.

The Adventure's engine has been tuned to make 29.8 bhp at 8,000 rpm, and 29.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.

The Yezdi Adventure makes the most power, to aid in covering long distances on the highway effortlessly, and also has punchy mid-range torque. In numbers, the Adventure's engine is tuned to make 29.8 bhp at a relatively high 8,000 rpm, with 29.9 Nm of peak torque kicking in at 6,500 rpm. The Adventure is also the heaviest, with a kerb weight of 188 kg.

The engine of the Yezdi Scrambler has been tuned to put out 27 bhp at 8,000 rpm, and 28.2 Nm at 6,750 rpm.

The Yezdi Adventure has the most suspension travel and ground clearance, and engine tuned for a higher redline.

The Adventure gets long travel suspension, with 200 mm front wheel travel, and is the only model with a monoshock rear suspension, and it offers 180 mm rear wheel travel. The Adventure has three-level ABS, offering Road, Off-Road and Rain modes, and ground clearance of 220 mm. The Adventure comes with a 21-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel combination, shod with block pattern tyres for dual-purpose use.

The Yezdi Scrambler gets slightly less suspension travel and ground clearance than the Adventure, but is the lightest among the three models.

The Adventure has the longest wheelbase of 1,465 mm and comes with the largest fuel tank capacity of 15.5 litres. It also gets the most ground clearance of 220 mm, and has the tallest seat height amongst the three models, with 815 mm.

The Yezdi Roadster is the most affordable model in the new Yezdi motorcycle range, and is also offered in the most colours, including blacked out, "dark" colour options. Prices begin at Rs. 1.98 lakh (Ex-showroom).
