Aprilia RS 660 Spotted In India; Launch Expected Soon

- Aprilia RS 660, Aprilia Tuono 660 India launch likely in a few weeks
- The Aprilia RS 660 is expected to be priced at Rs. 13.39 lakh
- Both bikes are made in Italy, and brought to India as CBUs
Aprilia India is getting ready to launch the Aprilia RS 660 in India in the next few weeks, and some units of the bike, imported as completely built units (CBUs), have already made it to India. Piaggio India, Chairman, CEO and MD, Diego Graffi posted a picture of him with one of the bikes, possibly at the company's facility in Baramati. In fact, some of the unopened boxes seen in the background clearly has "Made in Italy" printed on them. The Aprilia RS 660 and its naked sibling, the Aprilia Tuono 660 will both be launched in India.

According to a leaked document, which was corroborated with dealers by carandbike, the Aprilia RS 660 may be priced at Rs. 13.39 lakh (Ex-showroom), while the Aprilia Tuono 660 could be priced at Rs. 13.09 lakh (Ex-showroom). But these prices have not been confirmed by Piaggio India, so final prices will be announced at the time the bikes are launched and ready for delivery. We believe Piaggio India could announce prices and deliveries of both the RS 660 and the Tuono 660 later this month.

Styling is inspired by the RSV4 1100 but the dual-layered fairing is designed for comfort, rather than out and out track performance
Both the Aprilia RS 660, as well as the Tuono 660 are powered by the same 659 cc, parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree firing order. On the RS 660, the motor produces 99 bhp at 10,500 rpm and 67 Nm of peak torque at 8500 rpm. Meanwhile, the motor is tuned for 95 bhp at 10,500 rpm and 67 Nm at 8500 rpm on the Tuono. The engine has been derived from the front two cylinders of the V4 engine of the Aprilia RSV4 1100.

The Aprilia Tuono 660 will be launched in India, along with the Aprilia RS 660, possibly as early as later this month.
The Aprilia 660 twins also come with a comprehensive set of electronic aids including the six-axis IMU, three-level cornering ABS, adjustable wheelie control, action control, engine braking control, along with a quickshifter and cruise control. Both motorcycles get five riding modes - Commute, Dynamic, Individual, Challenge and Time Attack. All the settings can be accessed using the TFT instrument console. Both the Aprilia RS 660 and the Tuono 660 will be offered in three colours - Apex Black, Lava Red and Acid Gold.
