On the BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS, the motor is tuned to produce 34bhp of power at 9500rpm and 28Nm of torque at 7500rpm, while paired to a 6-speed gearbox. TVS is yet to reveal specifications for the production-ready Akula 310.

BMW Motorrad's official entry to India was first announced at the 2016 Auto Expo and is expected to be a game changer in the sub-500cc segment. The G 310 R will be rivaling the new KTM 390 Duke, Mahindra Mojo, Kawasaki Z250 and the likes in the segment; whereas the G 310 GS will be one of the first offerings in the quarter-litre adventure tourer segment and will primarily take on the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Certainly then, BMW Motorrad will be making its presence felt from the start of 2017. However, expect more details on the models to arrive only then.
