BMW X5 Black Vermilion Unveiled

- The BMW X5 Black vermilion is finished in Frozen Black Metallic paint.
- The red vertical slats in the Kidney grille add to the aggressive looks.
- Cabin too is all-black with red stitching on seats, doors and dashboard.
'Black' seems to be quite the flavour these days especially when it comes to SUVs. Recently, we have seen brands like Ford, Tata Motors and even BMW coming up with the Sport, Dark and Black editions of their SUVs in India and the trend is picking up overseas as well. BMW has now given the X5 a new dark treatment which it calls the X5 Black Vermilion. Now there's more to this edition than just the Black finish. It also gets particular highlights building up on its aggressive demeanour.

The black look is further enhanced by the dark grey 22-inch wheels with matte finish.
So to begin with, the vertical bars in that colossal kidney grille are finished in red and they actually go well with the Frozen Black Metallic paint. The black look extends to the grille's contour and is further enhanced by the dark grey 22-inch wheels in matte finish. The brake callipers on the M50i too are done in red and since it's the M trim, you do get stuff like the M Sport Package, adaptive M Suspension and of course the M exhaust. Now this M50i will be limited to only Europe, and in the US, BMW will offer the X5 Black Vermilion only in the xDrive40i variant. That said, both models do get the adaptive full-LED laser headlights as standard.

The BMW X5 Black Vermilion sports the fancy glass gear lever and start button along with red stitching on the seats and an M-branded Alcantara headliner.
On the inside, the Black Vermilion special edition is quite loaded even in standard form. The elaborated equipment list includes a heated steering wheel, head-up display, remote engine start, and a Harman Kardon audio system among others. The mid-size premium SUV also sports the fancy glass gear lever and start button along with red stitching on the seats and an M-branded Alcantara headliner. The leather dashboard and carbon fibre interior trim uplift the sporty and premium appeal on the cabin but they are only offered on the Euro-spec M50i, while the US-spec xDrive40i missed out on these. Mechanically, the SUV remains unchanged and in both markets is offered with the same specifications as its standard variant it is based on.
