Car Sales July 2021: Kia India Sold 15,016 Units; Crosses 1 Lakh Units Mark In CY2021

- Compared to 15,015 units sold in June 2021, Kia's MoM growth was stagnant
- Kia India witnessed a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 76 per cent
- The Kia Sonet was the company's best-selling model in July at 7,675 units
Kia India has released its monthly sales number for July 2021, and the company registered a total sale of 15,016 units. Compared to 15,015 units sold in June 2021, the company month-on-month (MoM) growth remained stagnant. However, as against 8502 units sold in July 2020, Kia India witnessed a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 76 per cent. Having said that, we cannot consider this as real growth. Last year in July Kia had not yet launched the Sonet, its current best-selling model, additionally, India had just come out of a nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Considering the market conditions were not ideal either of the two Julys, this growth is nothing more than a one-off anomaly. As for the sales break-up for July 2021, last month the Kia Sonet yet again became the company's best-selling model at 7,675 units, followed by the Seltos, which accounted for 6,983 units. As for the carmaker's flagship model, the Kia Carnival, the company sold 358 units of the premium MPV in India. In fact, so far in the calendar year 2021, that is between January and July 2021, the carmaker has sold over 1 lakh vehicles in India.
