Ducati India Cuts Prices Of Select Motorcycle Models

- Prices of the Ducati Monster 1200 range have been revised
- Ducati Panigale 1299 Final Edition now costs Rs. 51.82 lakh
- Prices of other Ducati models remain the same
Ducati India has reduced prices of its fully imported models, or completely built units (CBUs) which are all imported from the Ducati factory in Bologna. These motorcycle models include the Ducati Monster 1200, Monster 1200 S Red, Monster 1200 Charcoal Grey and the Panigale R Final Edition. These models are all manufactured in Italy and imported as CBUs to India. Prices of Ducati's other models, which are manufactured in Thailand, remain the same, a statement from the company said. Prices of the 'made in Thailand' bikes remain unaffected since India has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Thailand under which import of goods, including motorcycles, already get significant customs duty advantages.
The move to reduce prices of imported bikes comes after the government announced a reduction in customs duty on fully imported bikes. Before the reduction, customs duty on imported bikes with engine capacity of up to 800 cc was 60 per cent and bikes with engine capacity of 800 cc and above attracted 75 per cent duty. The government has now reduced import duty to 50 per cent on imported motorcycles.
