Kawasaki has unveiled the 2020 Kawasaki Z650 at the EICMA 2019 motorcycle show and the new model now gets sharper styling which is in-line with models higher in the range. That said, under the skin the new motorcycle remains identical to its predecessor. Among the most prominent changes is the new LED headlamp, headlamp cowl and sharper looking tank shrouds. Since the Kawasaki Z650 remains unchanged mechanically, you get the same right-side up non-adjustable forks upfront and dual 300 mm disc brakes, but it has seen the addition of new rider assistance tech.

It gets a new 4.3-inch TFT screen.

The new Z650 has been loaded with more upmarket features as well. It gets a new multifunction 4.3-inch TFT screen which replaces the gauges with instruments like gear position indicator, shift lamp, fuel gauge and economical riding indicator along with smartphone connectivity through a chip that connects through the Rideology app. The app also gives vehicle information, route logs and can record riding conditions. Moreover, the rider can also get telephone, mail or message notifications on the dash.

The new Kawasaki Z650 continues to source power from the 649 cc engine that puts out 67 bhp and 66 Nm which is mated to a six-speed gearbox and sends power to the rear wheel using a chain drive system. It now rides on new Dunlop Sportmax GPR-300 tyres and gets a restyled saddle for both rider and passenger to enhance comfort. An ABS version of the Z650 is expected to arrive next year as well.
