Hero Electric Becomes Highest-Selling EV Brand In India

Hero Electric, India's largest electric two-wheeler company has over 4,00,000 electric vehicles on the roads, and has a whopping 36 per cent market share in the Indian electric vehicle segment. According to a statement from the company, the data has been released by JMK Research & Analytics, a boutique consultancy firm providing research and advisory services to Indian and international clients across solar, wind and e-mobility segments. According to a statement, Hero Electric has sold the maximum electric two-wheelers in 2021 across major centres in the country.

Hero Electric currently has over 36 per cent market share.
Despite a slowdown in market sentiment due to the pandemic, Hero Electric sold over 65,000 electric scooters in 2021 so far, an official statement announced. This increased demand has also been possible due to the conducive policies on EVs by the Central and state governments, apart from rising fuel prices, the company said. With over 2,000 charging stations and over 20,000 more planned in the near future, Hero Electric had recently announced its expansion of manufacturing facilities to manufacture 1 million (10 lakh) EVs by 2025.
