- Exports in October 2017 grew by 32.57%, a growth of 29,004 units
- Honda India's next launch will be the Grazia urban scooter on November 8
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) continued its festive momentum into October as well registering its best-ever sales for the season. However, while the company registered its best-ever festive sales crossing 13.50 lakh units between September and October 2017, sales for October saw marginal drop over last year. The two-wheeler maker sold a total of 4,66,535 units last month, as against 4,92,237 units sold during October 2016, a drop of 5.22 per cent. Domestic two-wheeler sales for last month stood at 4,37,531 units, a decline of 7.5 per cent as opposed to the 4,70,358 units sold in October 2016.
Commenting on the growth during the festive season, HMSI - Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, YS Guleria said, "The increased production capacity by 50,000 units per month ahead of the festival coupled with rapid network expansion, availability of models up to last mile network and 360 degree marketing push resulted in record festive retails. This festival, Honda has become the most preferred brand for million plus Indians."
Interestingly, exports for October 2017 saw an increase in volumes with 29,004 units shipped last month, a growth of 32.57 per cent as opposed to 21,879 units exported during the same period last year.
Last month also saw Honda introduce the updated CBR650F in the country priced at Rs. 7.30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Going forward, the company will be introducing the all-new Grazia scooter, which is expected to be a 125 cc scooter. The model will be launched on November 8.
