Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV Might Launch Right Ahead of Festive Season

Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, is gearing up for the launch of Verna facelift, which is scheduled to go on sale this month. The company is also planning to launch the i20 based crossover, which has already been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads. The pseudo crossover will go on sale in the second quarter of 2015 and will rival against the likes of Toyota Etios Cross, Volkswagen Cross Polo and Fiat Avventura. But, the big launch from the South Korean automaker will be the ix25 compact SUV.
Already on sale in the Chinese market, the ix25 SUV has been spotted quite a few times during its test rounds in India. It was speculated that the compact SUV will be launched in the mid-2015; however the vehicle launch might take place right ahead of the festive season which means in August or September 2015. Set to rival against the likes of Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano, the SUV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 12 lakh.

The compact SUV will share its component with new i20 hatchback, which will help the company keep its price competitive in the market. Carrying the popular Hyundai Fluidic Design philosophy, the ix25 crossover looks aggressive and more appealing than its contemporaries. It is expected to share the engine specifications with the Verna sedan. The crossover is likely to get the same 1.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engines. Both manual and automatic versions of the crossover are likely to be on offer.
