KTM Drops First Teaser For Next Generation RC Range, Global Debut In September

- The new generation KTM RC range will debut globally in September 2021
- The KTM RC 125, 200, & 390 get an overhaul with new design, sharper body
- Engine options are likely to be the same but with lots of new features
While spy shots have already revealed that the next generation KTM RC 125, 200 and 390 are ready for debut, the Austrian bike maker has officially dropped the first teaser of the offerings. While the teaser doesn't say much, it does give a glimpse of a racetrack. The KTM RC range has been known for its track-purpose nature, which further raises our hopes. Moreover, the video shows a pit-board with the numbers 9/21, which could translate to a September 2021 global debut. The next-generation KTM RC 125, 200 and 390 will be manufactured in India at the Bajaj plant in Chakan and exported overseas.

Previously leaked images have given us a fair idea of what we can expect from the models. The 2022 KTM RC range will get a new design language with the wider LED headlamp and fairing-integrated turn indicators. The fairing itself is sharper than before, while the models have moved up to a TFT display for the instrument console. Other upgrades likely include a taller handlebar, revised seat and ergonomics, as well as features like a quick-shifter. The 2022 KTM RC 390 could get an adjustable suspension as well. It needs to be seen how many of these features will make it to the India-spec model, especially on the KTM RC 125 and the RC 200.

India will be one of the first markets to get the new KTM range and we do expect the bikes to hit the showrooms by early 2022
KTM will continue using the 124 cc, 199.5 cc and the 373 cc single-cylinder engine options on the RC 125, RC 200 and the RC 390 respectively. Power figures will be identical albeit we do think the company will offer better performance and refinement from each of these motors. Prices for the KTM RC range currently starts at Rs. 1.80 lakh for the RC 125, going up to Rs. 2.77 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). Expect to see a marginal price hike when the new version arrives.
