Highlights

  • The price hike does not bring any updates to either of the motorcycles
  • The Husqvarna range is now more expensive by up to Rs. 2,048
  • Prices remain unchanged on the recently launched 2022 KTM 390 Adventure

KTM and Husqvarna brands have joined the long list of two-wheeler makers who recently hiked prices on their respective offerings. The sister brands, part of KTM AG, are the newest manufacturers to increase prices across their product portfolio by up to Rs. 2,048. The rising input costs of raw materials and the semiconductor chip shortage have forced two-wheeler makers to hike prices substantially this year and it seems KTM and Husqvarna have now decided to pass on the cost to customers. Manufacturers including TVS, Yamaha, and Royal Enfield, among others announced price hikes since the beginning of the current financial year.

Meanwhile, KTM is gearing up to introduce the new-generation RC 390, which is expected to arrive in the next few days. Originally scheduled for launch in January this year, the RC 390 has been delayed due to supply constraints. A recently leaked price confirmed that the full-faired motorcycle will command Rs. 3.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it a whole Rs. 37,000 more expensive than the outgoing version. The new-generation KTM RC 390 gets substantial upgrades with a new design language, bigger fuel tank, reworked LED headlamp, split seats, new alloy wheels and more. The 373 cc liquid-cooled engine has been carried over but the bulk of changes help extract more performance from the motorcycle.
