Lexus NX 300h Hybrid SUV India Showcase: Highlights

- The Lexus NX 300h is the smallest model from Lexus India
- This is the third hybrid model from Lexus in India
- It will be going up against Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA
Lexus entered India in March 2017 with three products which are the Rx 450h, ES 300h and the LX 450d. And today it showcased a brand new hybrid SUV, which is the NX 300h. It is the smallest Lexus model in India and the third hybrid model after the RX 450h SUV and the ES 300h sedan. Now, the NX 300h will be launched in India in early 2018, probably in January 2018. The expected pricing could be around Rs. 60 lakh.
The NX 300h is the smallest SUV from the Lexus portfolio globally and Lexus believes that the NX 300h should be a strong seller, it being the most affordable Lexus in India. Lexus will be setting up its own network of showrooms and after sales service points as the company parted ways with its parent company Toyota in September this year. Lexus India believes that the restructuring will only help it to establish a strong base in the country.

The SUV gets a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine along with an electric motor, which makes a total of 194 bhp. The SUV looks stylish and sophisticated with its bold, trapezoidal grille and those sharp LED headlamps.

The logo on the grille is set in a blue background, which signifies that the model is a hybrid. The flared wheel arches along with the plastic cladding gives the SUV a butch look. The model will be brought to India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Its traditional rivals will be the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the Audi Q3 as far as the size is concerned.
