Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Stingray Get AMT Variants

Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Stingray now also get a handful of new safety features including driver and co-driver airbags and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The aforementioned safety features are optional across all variants of the WagonR and Stingray.

Mr R S Kalsi, Executive Director Marketing & Sales, MSIL said, "WagonR is one of the strongest brands in the Indian car market and it has been one of the top five selling cars in the country. WagonR will be the third brand from our portfolio to get the acclaimed Auto Gear Shift technology. By introducing the AGS in a popular car like WagonR, we aim to democratize the AGS technology so that more customers can enjoy the convenience of automatic gear shift without compromising on fuel efficiency and at an attractive price."

After the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Alto K10, WagonR is the third brand in the carmaker's line-up to receive the AGS technology.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Stingray will continue to be powered by the 998cc K10B petrol engine, that puts out 67bhp and a maximum torque of 90Nm. According to the company, Maruti Suzuki WagonR continues to deliver a mileage of 20.51Km/l even with the new transmission option. One must note, there are no changes in the design of the two models.
