Maruti to Recall 69,555 DZire, Swift & Ritz

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has issued a recall notice for 69,555 diesel vehicles (55,938 units of Old Dzire, 12,486 units of Old Swift and 1,131 units of Ritz) manufactured between March 8, 2010 and August 11, 2013. The company said the recall was to inspect and repair the wiring harness fitment of the aforementioned cars.
The problem was first noticed based on feedback monitoring and internal checks by the company, thus leading to the initiation of the recall excercise. Maruti further clarified that the recall is limited to only the vehicles within the specified range and does not affect any other Maruti Suzuki car or its exports.
Under the recall excercise, Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact owners of all the affected vehicles. and then workshop technicians will inspect the wiring harness fitment condition and carry out the necessary repairs, free of cost.
Users of Maruti Suzuki diesel cars (Old Dzire, Old Swift and Ritz) can check the company's website to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above mentioned vehicles. The customers are requested to fill in the chassis number (MA3 or MBH followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also in the vehicle invoice / registration documents.
Customers may also contact the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles.
