Mercedes-Maybach Reveals Limited Edition S-Class By Fashion Designer Virgil Abloh

- Maybach S-class by Virgil Abloh limited to 150 units.
- Based on the fully-loaded S 680
- Black and sand colour scheme in line with 2021's Project Maybach concept
Mercedes-Benz has revealed its final car in collaboration with legendary fashion designer, the late Virgil Abloh - a limited run Maybach S-class. Limited to just 150 units, the limited edition Maybach is based on the fully-loaded S 680 and features an exterior paint finish last seen on the Project Maybach concept from late last year. The cabin too gets trimmings and accents in line with the exterior colour scheme along with unique graphics for the MBUX system. The limited-edition Maybach was signed off by the fashion designer in 2021 prior to his untimely demise.
Speaking on the project, Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Mercedes-Benz Group AG said,“I'm incredibly proud of the work we have created in collaboration with Virgil. From Project Geländewagen, which set the benchmark for fashion/automotive collaborations with our iconic G‑Class, to Project MAYBACH which brought the distinguished Mercedes‑Maybach heritage into the future, together with Virgil we truly broke new ground. The limited-edition Maybach by Virgil Abloh exemplifies the symbiosis between innovative design and ultimate craftsmanship now available on the road.”

Exterior colour theme mirrored on the inside; MBUX gets custom graphics for the limited edition.
Starting from the exterior, the Maybach S 680 draws inspiration from last year's Maybach concept jointly developed with Abloh. The S 680 limited edition comes finished in a two-tone paint scheme with the lower half – including the unique forged alloy wheels – finished in a sand colour with the pillars, bonnet, roof and bootlid finished in black.
Inside, the cabin too carries forward the black and sand colour scheme with extensive use of Napa leather on the dashboard, steering, doors, and seats. The cabin additionally also features special Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logos on the dashboard, headrests, and rear seat cushions. The limited-edition S680 also gets a unique interface for the MBUX system with unique design touches to the interface.

The S 680 is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 that puts out a notable 603bhp and 900Nm of torque.
Each S 680 by Virgil Abloh is also accompanied by a custom-made wooden box wrapped in sand coloured napa leather. The box contains a 1:18 scale replica of the S 680 by Virgil Abloh along with two seats of keys and a carabiner hook. The limited-edition S 680 also gets a unique car cover with Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh branding.
