MG Hector SUV To Be Unveiled In India In May

- The all-new MG Hector will be unveiled this month.
- It will be the first connected car in its segment.
- It takes inspiration from the Baujon 530 SUV from its stablemate.
After all the buzz and fanfare, we finally get to see the all-new MG Hector in the flesh soon. MG has said that the car will make its first public appearance on May 15 and MG Motor is expected to share all the details of the SUV then. The Hector, as we've already told you will be the first connected car in its segment and in fact the company has already shared pictures of the car. The Hector SUV gets bumper mounted LED headlamps and the daytime running lights (DRLs) are positioned right on top, close to the hood, a design element which is gaining prominence globally. Other elements include faux-silver skid plates, roof mounted spoiler and diamond cut alloy wheels.

The MG Hector will be the first connected car in its segment.We already know that MG Motor is playing big on the connected car aspect of the Hector and it will be equipped with over 100 connectivity features which include a range of assistance and security features like Indian accented voice-assist, geofencing, live maps, live music streaming and what not! You can even open the sunroof or get the direction for any location on the 10.4-inch touchscreen simply through your voice command. The connected features will operate through an in-built eSIM and MG Motor will provide free data for the first few years. Other the connected car features which we are going gung-ho about, the MG Hector will be also equipped with a six-way power adjustable driver's seat, Harman Infinity audio system, 360-degree camera assist, cruise control, push-button start-stop and a segment-first panoramic sunroof among others.

The MG Hrctor is almost identical to the Baujon 530 SUV from its stablemate.The MG Hector takes inspiration from the Baujon 530 SUV and will share several design cues and elements with it along with the engine options. The range is expected to include a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. A mild-hybrid variant supplemented by a 48-volt motor is also likely to on offer. Both the engines are expected to be mated to a six-speed gearbox as standard while a six-speed dual-clutch transmission will be on offer. Out in the market place, the Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier and Tata Hexa will be its core rivals while it is also likely to face competition from the Creta.
